Fossil Q Smartwatches [Fossil Gen 5, Gen 4, Gen 3, Gen 2]

In this world of wearable technology, where each and every person wants to get hold of the best smart gadget out there, manufacturers of smartwatches are busy trying to come up with new innovative and never-seen-before features and I’ll tell you why.

It’s quite surprising that the technology which was first introduced as an extension of the smartphone has become its competitor in some way, but if we look at the broader picture, it was bound to happen.

With all the evolution that has come with the technology, no wonder we’re getting phones, laptops in slimmest and sleekest form, as no one likes bulky, chunky gadgets anymore which they have to carry around with them, all the time.

So, it was bound to happen and wearable technology might overtake the smartphone world with its compact size because of providing compelling features like doing ECG tests, right from your wrist. Even though it hasn’t really taken over yet, but who knows after some 10-20 years, smartphones will become obsolete and smartwatch technology takes over, but again, this is just my opinion.

But, yes, with all the competition going around in this field, every wearable gadgets making company is trying to make their products more innovative, qualitative and worthy. For instance, Apple has made sure that its smartwatch occupies the top position along with its smartphones and its competitors; Samsung, Huawei, LG, etc are trying to beat it with their products.

Each and every company out there is working really hard to give you guys the best smart gadget. Just like Fossil, a well-known brand came in this wearable contest and fixed its spot on top when it comes to giving classic and stylish designs to its smartwatches.

Fossil as a company was lagging in other genres but they made sure to maintain their class in elegance and overall look of the smartwatch. Meanwhile, Fossil did improve in other features too, which is what this blog post is all about.

Fossil Q Gen Smartwatches

Fossil Hybrid Smartwatch

Fossil Q Founder Gen 1

Fossil started its smartwatch journey from Fossil Q founder Generation 1 with a lot of innovative features and attractive design. It came up with touchscreen functionality and display notification for calling and texting, using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technology.

It had a built-in activity tracking feature that was meant to track your all-day activities efficiently and for this purpose, you had to sync your phone with it.

It came up with a customizable set of smartwatch for the first time by giving the opportunity to make it yours and choosing the Google design, adjusting the colors, etc.

It was a good gadget to start with, but, it was bulky and lacked by features which are considered very important and essential nowadays. I guess that’s the main reason it isn’t available on Amazon right now or maybe terminated by fossil itself. Nevertheless, it was a good way to start their trademark which later took the world of smartwatches in their hands.

Fossil Q Founder Gen 2

This could be a fine choice for an old school person, who doesn’t care about the features but is a big fan of style and class in smartwatches.

Design/Hardware

Fossil Q Founder Gen 2, smart gadget, comes in 1.42 inches of a bright touchscreen with a metal case that is 14mm thicker. The strap is comfy and is 22mm wide. The display of it is small as compared to successors but, it isn’t that small either. The overall look of the smartwatch is really good and gives very aesthetic and classy vibes.

Moving to its hardware section, it has Snapdragon 2100 chipset which is quite new as compared to its predecessor. It comes with 4GB of internal storage and 512MB of RAM, which is quite good for the normal usage and considering the features it contains. It doesn’t have any fancy or highly specified hardware that would do wonder in its area, but it is still a good enough for performing features that this smartwatch contains, so you won’t be facing any lag or delay issue of any kind.

Activity tracking

It comes with a built-in activity-tracking feature that counts your steps, tracks your distance covered and gives an account of the calorie intake. It can be said it is quite nice to have activity tracking like this since it does help you in improving your fitness and continuing other healthy activities.

Smart notifications

By engineering this feature into this smart gadget, fossil did justice to the definition of smartwatch, as it was introduced as an extension of smartphones for the first time. So, yes, this smartwatch can also perform functions that are meant to ease your work.

When connected it with your phone’s Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, it has the ability to receive all your notifications on it and let you respond to them through it. It comes handy in places or occasions where you can’t use your phone at that time, or let’s say, too lazy to pick your phone or get it out of your pocket.

Water-resistant

It can be considered as a water-resistant smartwatch because the company claims that it has an IP67 rating, according to which it has the ability to resist water and can be considered immune to water intrusion at some level. But, having said that, it is advised not to use it under the water or exposed to water for a long period of time.

Also, if you’re a fitness geek and into swimming, you can’t do that while having it on your wrist, because firstly, it isn’t Swimproof and even if it is water-resistant to some extent, you can’t use it while bathing, so using it while swimming is quite dangerous for it.

Andriod Wear 2.0

As we all know Google updated the operating system of a smartwatch to “Andriod Wear 2.0” which is the latest right now. Fossil Q Gen 2 does comes with this OS and makes it easier for you to use different features without the lag and delay issues. Along with that, it also makes the interface easy to use, due to which it becomes a stress-free package.

Battery life/charging method

Even though the battery capacity comprises of 360mAH and can last up to 1 day approximately after a single charge, but it varies from user to user. Also, it doesn’t get charged by any other mean and you have to place it over the charging magnet by which it gets charged with the inductive charging method.

Compatibility

It is compatible with smartphones having Andriod 4.3+ and iOS 9.0+. It uses the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth of your phone in order to sync and work accordingly.

Extra features

Microphone and speaker: In order to perform voice-activated tasks, it comes with a built-in microphone that does your desired work by listening to the commands. And, it also has a speaker though you can listen to different things through it, easily.

Enjoy music: It comes with this exciting feature where you can enjoy your music through this smartwatch. This really helps when you want to listen to music remotely on it without having the need of using the phone. And, that’s where your 4GB internal memory comes handy and you can utilize it here to its fullest.

Customized faces: Yes, you can customize this smartwatch and literally make yours by customizing the watch faces as per your choice. Even the strap is interchangeable, so you can wear it the way you want to.

What’s missing?

Sleep tracking: It lacks this important feature which is basically the tracking of your sleep. Through this feature, your sleep gets tracked in its core and the smartwatch gives insights about Light, Deep and REM status of the sleep.

Heart rate monitoring: Doesn’t have heart rate monitoring feature either, due to which you can’t measure your heart rate during different workouts or in general too, which is considered really important now.

Fossil Q Men’s Gen 3 Explorist

his smartwatch is actually a fine mixture of elegance, style, class, looks very attractive between a band, and it can be your pick if you’re into the looks of it.

Design/Screen

It comes in such an elegant and attractive design that will make it your choice by just looking at it. The 1.4 inch AMOLED display comprising of the beautifully circular display is where it gets all the attention. The screen is sharp but not sharp enough to make you uncomfortable, however, the resolution is 454 x 454, which is quite good enough.

This smart gadget gives you full display unlike its predecessor Fossil Q Gen 2. It also can work with the “always-on display” with some low-powered watch faces, but it does drain the battery more in this way.

Moving to the right side of it, it has 3 buttons there. Actually, there are two buttons and 1 rotating crown just like the Apple Watch. This crown lies between these two buttons which act as a boss and does most of the work by making the communication possible with the Google Assistant.

You can give commands to Google Assistant by pressing and holding the crown, as the microphone is already there to transfer your voice to it, hence the work gets done easily. The two buttons on the upper and lower side of the rotating crown give you the shortcuts to the apps you’ve installed.

Even the straps of Fossil Q smartwatch Gen 3 are interchangeable and you can pick any of your choice, which means that if leather straps aren’t your thing then you can move to a slightly expensive option of choosing stainless steel strap, which again will be pricey, but it looks really amazing.

It can’t be said that this smartwatch is heavier for everyone since every person has different body shapes and sizes but yes, it does weigh 8.8 ounces which are quite heavy. Even iPhone 7 Plus weighs only 6.63 ounces so you can get the idea.

Hardware

You’ll not find any changes in its hardware than the previous generation as it comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, 4GB of internal storage, and 512MB of RAM which is quite better than its predecessor.

I guess it’s time that fossil should introduce some innovations in the hardware section, but it does need improvement in this genre too.

Smart Notifications (Text/Call)

If your phone isn’t in your reach but you have to call someone, you shouldn’t be worried about it because you can call/text anyone using this smartwatch. This feature really helps when you’re in a hurry or doing a workout where you can’t afford to use your phone. So what you can do, you can just do it from the wrist. Along with calling and texting, Fossil Q Gen 3 notifies you about your social apps alerts and keeps you updated with it.

But, since it doesn’t come with LTE technology or can’t be connected through any SIM so it can’t be termed as Standalone smartwatch in that way. But, that being said, it can act like that if and only if your phone is connected through Bluetooth or Wi-Fi with it.

Activity tracking

Activity tracking plays a really important part in not only keeping you fit and healthy, but it also motivates you to work harder for your fitness goals and keeps you motivated.

In particular, this gadget comes with an activity-tracking feature that has the ability to count your steps, distance covered, and keep an account of calorie intake. Yes, it’s really very basic activity tracking and Fossil could’ve added some more features than its predecessor model, but still no luck.

Customization – Make it yours

You can customize apps the way you want and can get the information you need by just taking a quick look. This really helps you if you’re traveling and you’ve to constantly check the directions, so by customizing it, you’ll easily see the directions without having to open that app again and again.

By making it yours, yes I literally meant, you can make it yours just the way you like it. You can adjust the colors, choose your favorite Google design, and even interchange the strap with your picked one and make this smartwatch yours.

Water-resistant and dustproof

Even though the IP rating of it is IP67 level, which means that it can resist the water intrusion for 30 minutes under 1-meter deep water, but it’s risky. Firstly, it’s not really a fitness tracker due to which it can’t be treated like that. Secondly, it’s not Swimproof or that water-resistant which allows you to freely use it under the water or tracks your data while swimming. So, if even if it says it’s water-resistant, you shouldn’t do experiments by using it under the water for a long time.

Battery life/Charging

Since the battery life depends upon the user side and their usage along with battery capacity itself. But, this smartwatch is meant to last for 24 hours after a single charge but it still varies from here too.

Its battery works differently with an iPhone and gets a 90-degree phase shift when connected to an android. As you can get the hint, yes, it works better with an android than iPhone and has fewer compatibility issues too. Its battery drainage with Andriod smartphones is comparatively less than iPhones.

Its charging method is quite simple and gets charged from a magnetic charger. The charging process is quite slow and takes 4 to 5 hours to get charged completely, which is quite slow.

What’s missing?

Sports mode

Nowadays with huge competition around the world in wearable technology, people look for those smartwatches which are a complete package in itself. They want a mixture of fitness tracking, health monitoring with all the other amazing features as well.

If that’s the case, then it does lack some sports activity tracking which does come handy for everyone, whether the person is a fitness geek or not.

Sleep tracking/heart rate monitoring

These two features right here are considered really important nowadays because people want to get insights about them. Sleep tracking gives details about the Deep, light, and REM status of the sleep. While heart rate monitoring is basically keeping you aware of it to make it steady during different workouts.

It doesn’t come with these two features, which is a must and should be included.

Compatibility issue with iOS

Even the company claims that it’s compatible with smartphones having Android OS 4.4+ and iOS 9.3+. But, it still has compatibility issues with iPhones since you can’t use certain features, for instance, you can just receive and check notifications but can’t reply to texts using an iPhone.

Fossil Men’s Gen 4 Explorist

With all the new, innovative features and beautiful design, Fossil Men’s Gen 4 Explorist has the tendency of being on your wrist, for a lot of reasons and here they are.

Design/Screen

There is not any surprise in the design of Fossil Men’s Gen 4 because it comes with the almost identical design of Gen 3, but with many exciting new features. Its AMOLED display is gorgeous and comprises 1.4 inches with 454 x 454 resolution, which gives a bright, shiny and sharp look.

The leather straps are 22mm long which itself in nature looks really durable and meaning to last, also the rubber backed design really helps in making a sweat-proof package. Since the straps are interchangeable, you can swap it with your favorite one, choices are endless here.

The rotating crown in between two buttons gets all the attention while operating it because most of the interface gets operated by it. You can scroll through different apps and work easily by using it.

Hardware

It comes with almost similar hardware specifications like its predecessor Fossil Q Gen 3 and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 2100 processor, along with 4GB of internal storage and 512MB RAM. Even though there aren’t any surprises here, but it still works pretty fine and doesn’t have noticeable lag and gives a smooth interface.

Smart Notifications (Text/Call)

It gives you smart notifications about your incoming calls or text messages and keeps you updated to your social life by keeping you notified. It uses Bluetooth technology for that purpose and works efficiently. Fossil took an interesting turn by eliminating the built-in speaker which was included in the previous generations. That speaker really helped in establishing two-way communication using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi technology.

Heart rate tracking

This feature was missing in all previous generations of Fossil Q smartwatch, and it is one of the main highlights of this gadget too. Heart rate tracking is considered really important, because you can get insights about it, and you can improve your heart rate that increases considerably during any heavy workouts. By adding this feature, Fossil sent a clear cut message that they are not just about design and classy looks, but they can provide features like this too.

Built-in GPS

It comes with built-in GPS which makes you go on the run without having the burden of taking your phone with you. The untethered GPS will automatically track your outdoor activity and will send you details about it. Fossil’s previous Q smartwatch generations had activity tracking, but it was missing this untethered GPS feature.

It can be said that inclusion of it, works like a dessert after delicious food. Now, you can do outdoor activities without the presence of your phone and it will count your steps, give an account of the calorie intake and tracks the covered distance, efficiently.

Health doctor

Even though I used this term metaphorically, but, it really works like it. As the previous generations were behind in the fitness genre, but this beauty right here is equipped with some amazing health monitoring and improving features.

It comes with this amazing “Google Fit” feature that actually acts as your trainer and gives you tips on improving your fitness activities. The recommendations are taken from the “American Heart Association” and “World Health Organization” so you would know that they are authentic.

Nevertheless, this does give you proper health coaching about achieving your activity goals.

Pay from your watch

As I said, Fossil did an amazing job in manufacturing this smartwatch because it is equipped with all the amazing and important features which were absent in its predecessors. Yes, you can pay from your smartwatch anytime you want. It is equipped with NFC technology, which lets you do the job without any trouble. So, even if you forgot your wallet at home and you’re in line in getting your coffee, don’t worry about it, and pay right from your wrist.

Make it yours

Make this smart gadget your by customizing it, just the way you like it. You can set the watch faces according to your mood and preferences along with the style you want. You can also make watch faces from social apps too, choice is yours. The bands are interchangeable, so even if you don’t like the leather strap which by the way, is really good and durable, you can swap it with a bit pricey but solid stainless steel strap.

What’s missing?

Sleep tracking

It won’t be unjust to say that Fossil did work on many missing features and has to work more on the fitness tracking side. But, they also didn’t include the sleep tracking feature in this gadget too, which is considered quite an important tool to have insights about your sleeping cycles; light, deep and REM status of the sleep.

Improved battery life

Just like the previous generations, the battery life is still not reliable and it can’t be said that it can last an entire day without charging due to the inclusion of HR and GPS. Yes, most of the battery drainage comes from these two features mainly, but it still isn’t reliable enough to make you go on a run for a long period of time without getting charged.

Specifications:

  • Color: Blue
  • Weight: 2.8 ounces
  • Display: 1.4 inches AMOLED

Fossil Gen 5 Smartwatch

It doesn’t really get any better than this one right here, because fossil played almost all the cards it had in manufacturing this Fossil Gen 5 smartwatch.

Screen/Design

Fossil is known for making its smartwatches that are unique or stylish in its appearance. Well, this Fossil Men’s Gen 5 comes in 1.3 inch AMOLED display, the screen is quite circular in shape just like Gen 4, but it’s comparatively smaller than that. However, it is difficult to see the display in bright daylight.

Fossil made sure that this gadget is easy to wear and made it extremely lightweight and you won’t really feel it on your wrist. Straps are 22mm wide, there are a lot of choices for it. You can either stick to the stainless steel or you can swap with a band of your choice.

The design is elegant and stylish, doesn’t give you sporty vibes but still gives a bit of business watch look. It comes with almost similar design like Gen 4 and has 3 buttons on the right side. In the middle of these buttons, there’s a rotating crown which does most of the work. You can assign tasks to the buttons of your choice. Overall, the design looks pretty amazing with a classy display which makes it a really stylish smartwatch.

Hardware

Fossil finally came up with a solid update in this smartwatch generations and introduced a totally new specification. It comes with Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset which is the newest from Qualcomm and does a pretty amazing job.

On top of everything, it is equipped with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. With all these new specifications, the fossil is set to compete with top android smartwatches now. Because, with this up-gradation of 512MB of RAM to 1GB RAM, they made sure that they’re here to stay in the business of smartwatches for a very long time.

Heart rate tracking

Since fossil added the most awaited Heart tracking feature in Gen 4 but it was consuming the battery to its extent. With the new heart sensing approach, it can track your heart all the time without draining too much battery. This was very important because you can’t track your heart rate all the time with the battery draining this quickly. So, now you can have insights about your heart rate during workouts without severe battery drainage.

Along with this, it also comes with the “Cardiogram” app, which is solely made to give proper information about your heart rate, so you can just look at it after the end of a workout, etc.

Different battery modes

This innovative feature is subjective in nature. Fossil introduced this new feature where you can customize the battery modes to your use. It basically comes with 4 different battery modes; Daily, Extended, Custom and Time only.

Maybe, with all backlash about the battery drainage in Gen 4 made fossil took this decision and introduced this feature. So, now you can use the smartwatch-like you want to, and can even limit the features in custom battery mode. Extended battery mode will switch off some feature and in this way, you can be able to get more battery life.

But then again, this is kind of a subjective feature and not everyone likes to limit features of the smartwatch and use it in that way.

Two-way communication

Fossil Gen 4 was missing a speaker through which you could be able to receive calls and listen to Google assistant, but Fossil did make the two-way communication easier by equipping the built-in speaker in this one.

So, now you can receive calls easily if it is connected to your phone’s Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. You can also play music and enjoy it even if your phone is not in your hands.

Smart assistance

Due to the Android wear 2.0 the Google assistant is smart enough to help you out on several occasions. You want to get information about the weather tomorrow, it will give you updates on it. Along with this it gives you reminders and can read your messages and with “translate out loud”, which is quite an amazing feature, you can hear the text message too.

Swimproof

If you’re into swimming, you can take this smartwatch with you, because it is 3ATM water-resistant, which means it can resist the intrusion of water under 100 feet. This is actually a really important feature that fossil introduced because their wearables were lacking the sporty, fitness tracking and health monitoring features. They completely made sure in manufacturing this Fossil Gen 5 smart gadget to include all perks and features, so it’s quite an amazing move from them.

Huge storage

Fossil Men’s Gen 5 really sent a strong message to its competitors that they are not behind in this game either. By giving 8GB of storage to this smartwatch for downloading an enormous amount of apps, music and much more, they set the bar very high. And not only storage, to balance the equation for the possible lag, but it also comes with 1GB of RAM, to make sure your downloaded data run and play smoothly.

More Interesting Features

NFC: This feature allows you to pay from your watch, even if your wallet is not in your pocket.

Untethered GPS: This allows the watch to track your outdoor activities and gives you an accurate estimate of it. This really helps you to go on a run or activities without necessarily having the phone in range.

Smart notifications: You can get all types of notifications, whether it’s your calls or text notification or your social app’s notifications, you get all, on your wrist.

Activity tracking: It does activity tracking to its finest and counts your daily steps, tells you the distance covered and gives an account of the calorie intake.

Fossil Q Men’s Sport Smartwatch

For all fitness geeks out there, this smart gadget is equipped with some great features which make it your good companion while doing sports or outdoor activities you’re interested in.

Design/Screen

Fossil Men’s Sport smartwatch comes in two different cases of 41mm and 43mm, but they are extremely lightweight. The 41mm case has a thickness of 12mm but it weighs only 38grams, which is, to be honest, quite light as compared to other sporty watches. The straps are 18 and 22mm long depending upon the case size you’d pick, but they can be swiped easily, so the choices are endless here.

Like the Fossil Q smartwatch and other generations, it has 3 buttons on its right side, in which one of them is rotating crown. This rotating crown lets you scroll through different apps and can take you out of the apps too.

The screen size will be different too, for the two cases, so it basically comes in 1.19 and 1.29 inch OLED display, depending upon the case size you will choose. However, the resolution will remain the same in both of them. The display is bright and sharp, but not really up to the mark though. Just like the Apple watch series 5 which has the always-on-retina display, it has always-on color display mode, that of course isn’t similar to the Apple watch but works pretty fine.

Hardware

It comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor, along with storage of 4GB and 512MB of RAM. This is exactly the same specs as the Gen 4, but with the modification of processor chip. It works pretty fine, but the lag is still there.

Workout companion

This sports smartwatch acts as your companion and guides you on the recommendations taken from the American Heart Association and the World Health Organization. It also motivates you to achieve your fitness goals more often by giving heart points and move points.

GPS tracking

It is equipped with untethered GPS, which makes sure that if you’re going on a run, it tracks your laps or running while making you go hands-free without your phone.

Activity tracking

It can also track your daily activities like keeping an account of the calories intake, steps counts and distance covered, and gives you detailed insights about it.

Tech out loud

You can talk to Google Assistant and give it commands and get your tasks completed faster than it has to be. Along with that, you can also get smart health coaching from it too, by just a swipe of your finger.

Google pay

If you accidentally left your wallet at home/office and you were going to buy a coffee, for example, you easily pay your way from this smartwatch, without having to run down and get your wallet to make payments by hand.

Swimproof

It comes with 5ATM water-resistance, which makes it a perfect sports smartwatch, especially for swimming if you’re into it. You can also take a shower and wash your hands while wearing it, without any worries about it getting damaged.

Battery life

It comes with an improved battery life which obviously depends upon the usage as well. But, you can get an extra two days of battery life in lower-power mode. Also, due to the magnetic USB rapid charger, you can charge 80 percent of the battery within an hour.

Fossil Hybrid HR

By giving a tendency to live longer, 2 weeks of battery life, and engineering this gadget with sleep monitoring, I think the fossil has done an amazing job manufacturing this beauty.

Design/screen

This Hybrid HR smartwatch comes in 1.06 inch always on the read-out e-ink display, which is quite new from fossil. This watch gives more analog vibes than the analog watch itself and it’s NOT a figure of speech.

Firstly, the screen is not a touchscreen like other smartwatches, secondly, it has analog watch elements like number marking around the bezel and physical watch hands. If you’re an old school person and want to enjoy the beautiful mixture of classic and new-age smart gadgets, you can kill two birds with one stone by buying it.

The straps are 22mm long and are available in different sizes/designs, which you can choose, according to your preference.

The e-ink display is a subjective feature which is different for everyone, it was the trademark of pebble watches, but since “Fitbit” owns the pebble now, so that factor was gone, until now. One of the main perks of this e-ink display is that it drains very less amount of battery, as compared to other smartwatches with always-on display e.g. Apple watch series 5. This is exactly why the Fossil Hybrid HR battery can last for more than two weeks after a single charge, which is an unbelievable improvement coming from fossil.

Like the rest of the wearable from fossil, it also comes with 3 buttons, but the main rotating crown is missing in this one. Although, you can assign different tasks to these buttons of your choice.

Overall, the design isn’t chunky, quite sleek in its aura and doesn’t really create a burden on your wrist, making it a really good hybrid gadget.

Battery life

All generations fossil introduced in the span of 4 to 5 years had some quality features and solid design but they were lacking in the health monitoring side and battery life. But, with this Hybrid HR, they made sure there won’t be any backlashes about battery life, at least.

This fossil Hybrid HR smartwatch can last up to 14 days or more, which depends upon the usage as well. But, yes, 14 days of battery life after a single charge. Except few, most smartwatches don’t even come close to this.

This long-lasting battery life is powered by e-ink display or the fact that this gadget doesn’t come with built-in GPS either, which drains the battery the most. So, maybe it’s because of that too, but it still comes handy in every circumstance.

Improved health monitoring

As it is equipped with a heart rate measuring sensor on the back of it, which means that it has the ability to track your heart rate efficiently.

Fossil did put the nail in the coffin and sets a very high mark for the competitors after introducing the most awaited sleep monitoring feature along with providing long-lasting battery life. This feature was missing from all the previous generations of wearable fossil, but they really improved their health monitoring mechanism by introducing this feature. Yes, it comes with built-in sleep monitoring, which means you can have insights about the deep, light and REM status of your sleep.

Activity tracking

It comes with basic activity tracking where it gives an account of calorie intake, distance covered and the daily step counts. In order to get you in shape, it also comes with 6 basic workout-tracking too, which you can use to keep yourself in shape and get detailed insights about it too.

Info at glance

You can get a preview of your incoming calls, text messages or the notifications from your social apps. You can do the tasks right from your wrist, without having the need of using the phone. You can also customize the settings and get your related and desired info at glance. The buttons are also the customizable choice and they can be used to control your music, check the date and set personal goals, the choices are endless here.

Water-resistant:

It can resist water under 50 meters which makes it a Swimproof package. But, if you’re using the leather strap, it is advised that you shouldn’t use it under the water then, because it will surely get damaged after exposing to water. But yes, it is immune to water intrusion from splashes or while washing hands or showering.

Fossil Hybrid Smartwatch

Fossil also introduced another Hybrid Smartwatch which is quite similar to the one mentioned above, but it does have one major change in battery timing though, it never ends.

Yes, it can last up to 6 months, after which you will have to change that battery. It is named Hybrid smartwatch because of this fact, that you can use it anytime, anywhere without having the doubt or thought to come in your mind that you have to charge it over the night if you are going on a trip for days.

It doesn’t have heart tracking or sleep monitoring, but it is equipped with some great features like activity tracking or getting notified for the notifications you get on your cell phone.

This actually means that it can work as a proper extension of smartphones without the headache of charging it every day, which is, I must say, quite fascinating.

What Fossil Q Smartwatch Should I Buy?

Fossil really started their wearable journey from a simple gadget, Fossil Q smartwatch Gen 1. It was a simple one, which didn’t have any feature that could’ve been the trademark of them. But one area, where they always excelled in, was their design and style of the smartwatch.

With the passage of time, they started introducing features which were a hot-topic those days and started proving their plan to the competitors. Even though they came up with a heart rate sensor in the fifth generation, but since it’s never too late, the audience loved that too.

Fossil tried many experiments over the past couple of years but they were lacking in providing improved battery life and health monitoring features. This is where they introduced the Hybrid HR smartwatch, which is equipped with sleep monitoring and improved activity tracking, it comes with an e-ink display which is quite unique, and lastly, comes with two weeks of battery life.

It would be a bias of me to pick anyone from these amazing wearable, but my favorite would be the Fossil hybrid. This is because I believe that when smartwatches were introduced as an extension of the smartphone, they should behave and used like that, but then again, it’s my opinion and you can disagree with that.

Why I choose Hybrid Fossil out of all the others from a fossil? Because, it can last up to 6 months and more, which is a dream for anyone who’s interested in smartwatches. Although, it is not equipped with some important features but I can sacrifice those features for a battery timing like this. At least I won’t have to take the pain of charging the smartwatch every day, and if you somehow didn’t remember to charge your smartwatch, it’ll still work, which is all that matters for me.

But you can choose anyone from the smartwatches I mentioned above, because they are among the finest in the market, right now.
